Magdalena Rudensch%C3%B6ld

Magdalena Charlotta Rudenschld, commonly known as Malla Rudenschld and privately as Malin Rudenschld , was a member of the Swedish nobility and a ladyinwaiting. She was a key member of the Gustavian Armfelt Conspiracy who conspired to depose the regency government of Duke Charles. She was convicted of treason, pilloried, and sentenced to life in prison.

Magdalena Rudenschld was born to riksrd Count Carl Rudenschld and Countess Christina Sofia Bielke her mother was the granddaughter of the famous Christina Piper. When her father lost his parliament seat in 1766 and the family experienced economic difficulties, her mother received a secret allowance from the French state in exchange for benefiting French interests through her influential connections. In 1784, Magdalena was appointed hovfrken to the Kings sister, Princess Sophia Albertine of Sweden. She replaced her older sister Caroline, a personal friend of the princess, who retired from her position after her marriage that year. Magdalena was described as beautiful, intelligent and passionate, and made a social success at court.
